Ray Vander Kooij

Senior Pastor

Pastor Ray loves serving Bethel Church and the community of Acton, and has been pastor here since 2003. He enjoys preaching and teaching, and serving in leadership with a great staff. Ray and his wife Sue, have two children – Matt, who is at college, and Kendra who is finishing highschool. They share their home with a dog, three cats, and a rabbit; have their horses nearby; and Montey the pony lives in the backyard and is known and loved by the children of Acton! Ray enjoys spinning and pilates at a local fitness centre, road biking, reading, and time with family and friends.

A favourite Bible verse: “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace" (Psalm 29:11).

Diane Leferink

Outreach Coordinator

Diane serves as outreach coordinator for Bethel Church. She sees this position as a real gift to her life because she is able to work in an area that she has a passion for. “As a church, we are growing and learning how to effectively bring the hope of Jesus into people’s lives. It’s an incredible privilege to serve God in this way.”

Diane and her husband, John live in the community of Acton and enjoy living in a small town. Their grown children and grandchildren, family members and many close friends bring much joy to their lives. Other pleasures include a yearly camping trip, good books and bit of gardening just to mention a few.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength!”

Andrew Nunn

Ministry Coordinator

Andrew began working with Bethel part time running the summer sports ministry and since his graduation from Redeemer University in 2007 has been at Bethel full time as Ministry Coordinator. As ministry Coordinator, Andrew
serves in the areas Small Group and Youth Ministries of the church. Andrew loves his position here and continues to grow in his passion to see young people come to know Jesus in real and practical ways that affect their daily lives.

Andrew and his wife Laura enjoy the town of Acton and have loved the church community here. This past year they welcomed their first son, Ethan, in to the world and are excited to watch him grow, and grow and grow!

Andrew loves to be active and play sports of pretty well any kind (especially hockey). He also loves being in the outdoors with family and friends, fishing, camping, hiking and mountain biking.

Dorthea Vuyk

Worship Coordinator

Dorothea and her husband, Dean and their children came to live in the Acton area in the spring of 2009. With both feet, they jumped into the community of Bethel feeling that “the only way to get to know others is to be involved”.

In the spring of 2010, Dorothea responded to God’s call to apply for the Worship Coordinator positon. She enjoys music and a wide variety of worship forms – realizing that our wonderful Creator made us incredibly different and we can worship Him with many different gifts. Dorothea enjoys creating memories with her family through camping, homeschooling or just laughing around the supper table.

Diana Borg

Administrative Assistant

Diana serves as Administrative Assistant for Bethel church. In the past she has been involved with teaching Sunday School, VBS and Coffee Break.

Diana and her husband, Rick have three children and live near Guelph. They have been a part of the Bethel church family since 1997 and have found "It's worth the drive to Acton"! Diana enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her kids play hockey and reading.
